What Does Nourish Really Mean?

Nourish: verb. 1) To provide with food and other substances necessary for growth, life. 2) To foster the development of; promote. 3) To keep alive, maintain.
And in what ways can we apply nourishment to our lives as a whole? Nourish: verb
1) To provide with food and other substances necessary for growth; life.
2) To foster the development of; promote.
3) To keep alive; maintain. We must understand and apply all three definitions of nourish in order to wholly nourish ourselves... 1) To provide with food and other substances necessary for growth, life.
What we put into our bodies to keep it alive has a great deal to do with how long we’re going to be able to maintain a healthy life. To truly “nourish” your body, you need to feed it fresh, whole foods that are loaded with the vitamins and minerals your body needs and understands how to use. Choose fresh fruits and veg, quality sources of protein, and whole grains. Drink plenty of fresh, clean water everyday. Without adequate water, your body can’t function, and therefore nourish itself, properly. 2)To foster the development of; promote.
This applies to everything from exercising your body to following your dreams. Both of which are equally important. In order to keep that body of yours running for the long haul, you have to USE it. Run, bike, walk, yoga, hiking, boxing. Whatever floats your boat, do it! Just make sure you move that body of yours at least 3 times a week for 1 hour. Regular exercise has shown to ward off diseases like Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, cancer, neurological diseases and others. You must move. Follow your dreams. Find something you are passionate about and create it in your life. This can be anything from painting, to singing, to volunteering, to whatever moves you. You must nourish the being as well as the body. Research has shown that people who have hobbies and things they are passionate about are happier and healthier. 3) To keep alive; maintain.
Nourishing yourself in the full-sense is a lifetime pursuit. It’s not a diet you do for a month or two, it’s a lifetime journey that will change and grow as you do. This also applies to your relationships with others. They need to be nourished too. Husbands, wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, sisters, brothers, mothers, fathers, best friends, work friends…every relationship needs to be nourished in order to stay alive. Nourish your life in it’s entirety, and you’ll enjoy happiness and health. The journey isn’t always easy, but it is certainly worth it!
